A multilingual work-in-progress piece written by Mary Cooper
With co-writer Mimi Lam Webster I will run a series of workshops and interviews with West Yorkshire residents from the Chinese Community recording stories in both audio and written forms, and in translation. As part of this, Mary and Mimi will work with Antonia Lovelace, Curator of World Collections, to use Chinese artefacts from Leeds Museums to stimulate discussion and writing.
I'm working with Holme Valley Vision, older people and local schools as part of the Sharing Memories project Riverlution which will explore the future of the Holme Valley through creative writing, painting and drawing.
A poignant and reflective installation examining the First World War through letters, photographs and objects in Leeds Museums & Galleries’ collection. The Worker’s Cottage at Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills was used as a location. Writer Mary Cooper and photographer Ian Glover produced these newly commissioned creative pieces and the film to explore imagined attitudes to the First World War.
